About

Hi, I'm Anker Peet.

I'm a software engineer in Boise, Idaho with over 9 years of professional experience. Most recently I worked at Genesys, and before that at Healthwise (now WebMD Ignite).

The languages I'm most skilled in are JavaScript, TypeScript, and C#. My favorite part of being a software engineer has always been working on the frontend and building user interfaces that are functional and accessible.

Over the years I've noticed the same thing happen again and again. Teams move fast to ship features, and accessibility, performance, and responsive design slowly slip through the cracks. Nobody does it on purpose. Those problems are just easy to miss in day-to-day work.

That's why I started doing website audits. I'll go through your site, find what's actually getting in your users' way, and give your team a clear plan to fix it.

My approach

Senior engineering judgment, not scanner output.

I'll tell you what's broken, why it matters, and what your team should fix first.

Real users first

I test your site the way people actually use it: with a keyboard, a screen reader, a budget phone on a slow connection, or a browser zoomed in to 200%.

Prioritized by impact

Not every issue is a big deal. I rank everything by how much it affects your users and your business, so your team knows where to start.

Written for developers

I've been on the receiving end of plenty of bug reports. I write findings the way I'd want to get them: steps to reproduce, evidence, and code-level fixes.

Clear for decision-makers

Every report starts with a short summary that explains the risk, the effort, and the payoff in plain English.

Fixed scope, fixed price

We agree on the pages and the price before I start. No surprises.

Here after the report

I'll walk your team through everything I found, and I'm happy to stick around to help with fixes, re-testing, or monitoring.

Expertise

Where I can help

I focus on the parts of the frontend that have the biggest effect on how a site feels to use.

  • Accessibility: WCAG 2.2 AA, semantic HTML, ARIA patterns, keyboard and focus management, and assistive-technology testing.
  • Performance: Core Web Vitals, rendering performance, JavaScript cost, image and font optimization.
  • Responsive design: fluid layouts, modern CSS, touch-friendly interfaces, and cross-device testing.
  • Frontend architecture: component design, maintainable CSS, and practical engineering trade-offs.

Technical toolkit

  • JavaScript
  • TypeScript
  • Angular
  • React
  • Vue
  • RxJS
  • Node.js
  • C#
  • SQL & NoSQL
  • AWS
  • HTML & CSS

Experience

Where I've worked

I've worked on everything from small business websites to global software platforms and healthcare apps. The common thread is building frontends that real people rely on every day.

Education

Brigham Young University - Idaho

Beyond code

I spend my free time writing and recording my own music from my home studio. Creating music has always been one of the things I'm most passionate about, and it's helped me develop the creative side of my brain. I think that gives me a different perspective when I'm solving problems in software.

  1. Software Engineer, Genesys

    – · Remote

Built customer-facing web apps and features with Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, and Node.js for a global platform serving 11,000+ customers in 100+ countries. I worked on a lot of frontend performance improvements like lazy loading and caching, and helped other developers through code reviews, especially around JavaScript, CSS, frontend architecture, and accessibility.

  2. Software Engineer, Healthwise (now WebMD Ignite)

    – · Boise, Idaho

Built web apps with React, C#, and SQL for a healthcare content platform used by more than half of U.S. hospitals. Its health information has been delivered to patients over 2 billion times. I also helped modernize older frontend code and maintain integrations with healthcare APIs.

  3. Software Developer, AgentCubed

    – · Boise, Idaho

Built CRM and call-center software for the insurance industry using JavaScript, Angular, Node.js, C#, and SQL. I helped move older parts of the app over to Angular and kept a bunch of third-party integrations running.

  4. Web Developer, Peak Environmental

    – · Meridian, Idaho

Managed three websites and built one of them from the ground up. Even back then, a lot of my work was about speed: removing unnecessary code, compressing images, and minifying files.

Let's make your site work for everyone.

Send me your URL and what you're hoping to improve. I'll get back to you with a recommendation and a fixed-price proposal.
