Performance / Core Web Vitals

A website performance audit to understand what's slow.

A page can load its first heading quickly and still take too long to show the main image or respond to a tap. I investigate those delays on the pages we agree on and trace them back to likely causes.

You'll get hands-on testing, relevant source-code review, and a prioritized improvement plan. I explain the evidence behind each recommendation so your team can decide where to spend its time.

Most audits take about two weeks after scope and access are confirmed.

What website loading speed analysis covers

I look at the sequence of requests and the work the browser does to display the page. That helps explain whether a delay comes from the server, an image, a script, or several things happening together.

Testing also covers what happens after the page appears. A menu that takes too long to open needs a different investigation from an oversized image.

  • Core Web Vitals, with real-user data where it's available.
  • Server response, caching, compression, and request waterfalls.
  • Render-blocking resources and critical CSS.
  • JavaScript bundles, long tasks, hydration, and third-party scripts.
  • Image formats, responsive sizes, lazy loading, and main-image priority.
  • Font loading, fallback metrics, and layout shifts from font swaps.

What's in the Core Web Vitals audit service?

Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) measures when the largest visible image or text block appears. Interaction to Next Paint (INP) measures how quickly the page visibly responds to input. Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) measures how much content moves unexpectedly.

I compare available field data with controlled tests and look at the code behind the behavior. Lab results help diagnose problems, but they don't represent every device or connection, and a lab test alone can't establish real-user INP.

Your report includes evidence, likely causes, and code-specific recommendations ranked by expected user impact. We'll walk through it together. My practical guide to Core Web Vitals explains the metrics in more detail.

Questions about performance

How much does the audit cost?

Pricing starts at $1,000 USD. Scope depends on the pages, user flows, and technical complexity involved. We'll agree on a fixed price before work begins.

What if my site doesn't have enough real-user data?

I can still run controlled tests and inspect the loading and interaction behavior. The report will distinguish those test results from field data and explain where real-user evidence isn't available.

Will this guarantee a perfect score?

No. Scores vary with test conditions, and a perfect score isn't the same as a good experience for every visitor. The audit identifies causes and recommends changes; implementation and re-testing are separate follow-on work.

Where does your site feel slow?

Send me your URL and the pages or interactions you're concerned about. I'll reply with a scoped recommendation and a fixed-price proposal.
